Financial Advisor
Job Description
- Financial advisor for high-earning professionals with complex compensation packages often including equity who have dynamic planning needs
- Full-time W2 salaried position
- Remote role
- Reports to Advisory Team Lead
- Base pay: $100,000 to $130,000 with bonus potential (based on individual performance and firm growth), dependent on experience
Requirements & Nice-to-Haves
- 5 years of financial planning experience (OR 10 years of professional work experience for career changers)
- CFP® designation and bachelor's degree
- Working knowledge of eMoney financial planning software
- Strong preference for familiarity with Charles Schwab as custodian/investment platform
- Familiarity with Hubly is a big plus
Responsibilities:
- Serve as clients' primary point of contact and maintain positive client relationships
- Participate in and run client financial review meetings
- Take ownership of creating, managing, and iterating on client financial plans
- Make updates to plans as new data, information, goals, or assumptions are uncovered or provided by the client
- Create and manage client meeting deliverables
- Research and address client questions in between meetings and coordinate responses across BYH team as needed
- Monitor client satisfaction and implement improvements based on client feedback
- Help update and track client action items between meetings
- Support client service team in maintaining up-to-date client agendas between meetings
- Prepare for and attend/lead client meetings, capturing key insights, critical future planning items, and all action steps
- Build and refine financial plans using tools like eMoney and Holistiplan, identifying opportunities and strategic improvements
- Support compliance and regulatory reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards
- Collaborate with internal team members and external partners (CPAs, attorneys, insurance brokers) to help quarterback the clients' overall financial plan and needs
- Contribute to firm initiatives, process improvements, and peer mentoring to enhance team performance and client outcomes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information in CRM and other systems
Skills:
- In-depth technical expertise on core financial planning competency areas
- Knowledge of equity compensation (ISOs, RSUs, etc)
- Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships
- Great verbal communication skills - must distill complex ideas into concise, straightforward topics so clients can understand without sharing your depth of knowledge; can create structure for conversation and lead others through various stages of a planning meeting in a cohesive, organized format
- Excellent written communication skills - must be able to process a large volume of information via email and Slack messaging (versus relying solely or mostly on verbal instructions)
- Good sense of time management and ability to create and implement personal structures to stay productive and focused in a remote work environment
- Willingness and ability to learn new software programs and tech platforms
- Able to work independently and self-manage tasks and projects, while participating in team work when required
- Attention to detail and ability to properly sort and prioritize tasks
- Ability to independently solve problems and incorporate various considerations into new planning situations
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base pay: $100,000 - $130,000 depending on experience
- Bonus based on both individual performance and overall firm growth
- Unlimited paid time off (upon submitting dates for review and approval)
